Creating metadata for your jpg files is very easy and a great way to provide important information that is included with every copy of the file emailed, submitted or archived. If you don't have a copy of Photoshop®, have the photographer add the information you need when the picture is taken.

You can add metadata to files saved in Photoshop (PSD), PDF, EPS, PNG, GIF, JPEG, and TIFF formats. The information you add is embedded in the file using XMP (eXtensible Metadata Platform). XMP facilitates the exchange of metadata between Adobe applications and across publishing workflows. For example, you can save metadata from one file as a template, and then import the metadata into other files.

But enough teck talk. Think of this as an electronic slide label. GA2C requires that all images be jepg(.jpg) files including the name, artist, medium, size, and selling price or NFS (in this order) be entered as metaadata saved within the image.

STEP 1.
Under the File menue, (top left picture) select File Info.

STEP 2.
In the Description Palette (left), type the following items in order shown in the Description box:
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiName of painting
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiName of artist
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiDiiiMedium(watercolor, etc)
tiiiiiiiiiiiiiih 11x14
piiiiiiiiiiiiiir $800.00

STEP 3.
Save the file, fillout the submission form, attached the file you just prepared and send it in.

That's all there is to it. So good luck and submitt your files.

Type in the correct information in the order shown and save the file.
